Lord Darzi's Review
Having considered all the options available and their impact on the services provided we have decided not to bid for the health centre project. Similarly we have decided that now is not the right time to extend our opening hours although we reserve the right to do so in the future if circumstances change.
Minor Injuries
We are happy to treat patients with minor injuries
but if we feel it appropriate e.g. the need for an X-ray, then we
may have to refer you to A&E at
Book Appointments On-Line
You can now book appointments on line H24 but to be fair to all patients not all appointments are available on-line. To use this service you must first register for EMISaccess, in person, at reception.
Training Doctors
From 2007 we have been able to have a FY2 (Final Year 2) doctor at the practice for 4 months. They are fully qualified doctors but are on a rotation of different specialties which includes spending time in general practice. They will be able to see patients and prescribe on their own but will be under supervision of one of the GP Partners. We feel training young doctors is important and has many benefits for the practice as a whole.
We will also have two medicals students who are in their 3rd year of study attached to the practice on a Tuesday. In order to ensure that we still offer a first class service to our patients we will only have one training system running at any one time and for 6 months of the year there will normally be no trainees.
Patient Satisfaction Survey Results
We now have the results back from the 2008 survey. Overall we scored very highly, maintaining the good results from previous years. Your scores and where appropriate, your personal comments have been noted and will be considered. NB This is a government controlled survey, we have no input and we do not decide who is asked to complete it.
Practice Opening Times :
Mon-Fri: 8:30am - 6:00pm
Unlike most other surgeries the telephones and the building are not closed at lunchtimes so that appointments can be made at any time. Prescriptions can also be collected throughout the day.
It is also possible to drop off prescription requests outside of these hours. We now have a mailbox, fitted to the pedestrian entrance in the perimeter fence to allow you to do this when the surgery is closed. Please see the prescriptions page for easier ways to obtain your prescription.
