Physiotherapy triage

After consultation and diagnosis with your G.P. you will be given a leaflet explaining this service and instructions on what you need to do. You will then be able to ring the Triage Service and have details taken and then be called back by a Physiotherapist at a time convenient to yourself. At the end of their telephone assessment (on average lasting 15 minutes) the Physiotherapist will either:

  • Send you information backing up any exercises they have been given asking you to call back if they do not improve.

or

  • Send you information backing up any exercises they have been given and explain that they will arrange for them to see and be reviewed by a physiotherapist

or

  • Send you information backing up any exercises they have been given asking you to call back after a specific length of time

or

  • Explain that you need to see a further assessment and refer you on to their local physiotherapy provider

or

  • Other action required
